2025 Calendar of Events
By Catharine Hadley, Arts and Entertainment Editor, catharinehadley@gmail.com
The theme of this column is "trying new things." I'm happy to be starting this new project of writing the entertainment column for Leisure Living Magazine! I've done all I could to make the entertainment listing complete and varied, so there should be something for everyone. Although I've done my best to make sure all the information is accurate, please go online or call ahead to confirm your plans.
Any suggestions and details of your upcoming events can be sent to me at catharinehadley@gmail.com.
It's time for all things autumn, from cozy to spooky to everything in between!
Many area vineyards, orchards, and pumpkin patches are at their best this time of year. Some have one- and two-day festivals, so it's easy to enjoy the best our part of Ohio has to offer.
If you're looking for the scary aspect of the season, HalloWeekends at Cedar Point runs Thursdays through Sundays through Nov. 2.
The annual Witches' Walk is Oct. 18 in downtown Sandusky. The event has grown each year since it started in 2011. Visit the website to purchase tickets, learn the Witches' Dance, and get ideas for the perfect witchy costume.
The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council's annual fundraiser is back. Celebrate Draws (a take-off of the movie Jaws) on Sept. 20 at The Arts Garage. Support the local art community while enjoying music, drinks, DJ Amy Anderson, a silent auction, a live auction, and - the perennial favorite - the battle of the artists.
If you love local theater and music - as I do - you'll find SO many choices this season! Between the Musical Arts Series Port Clinton, the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, Harlequins Coach House Theatre, Bellevue Society for the Arts, Fremont Community Theatre, and Playmakers Civic Theatre, there aren't many weekends without some fine local entertainment.
To submit an event, email it to catharinehadley@gmail.com by October 28.
